In this course, students will be able to relate to words and expressions from the Bhagavad Gītā in the following areas:
In this course students will study the locative case and employ them in sentences. Students will also learn how to compose sentences using first, sixth and seventh cases in present tense, imperative mood and past tense. Students will also explore different conversational scenarios in Saṃskṛtam and answer basic questions in Saṃskṛtam. The concept of Lakaras (verb forms) will be introduced in this course. In this course, the students will examine the different Darśanas and Vedas, and the position of the Bhagavad Gītā within their ecosystem. Students will continue to chant and recite ślokas from the first chapter and understand the meanings.
Students will have a dedicated 1.5 hours of contact time with the faculty each week. The class is carefully structured to facilitate effective learning in an online face-to-face format. The curriculum is designed to build upon the knowledge gained in previous classes. Regular homework assignments will provide valuable opportunities to practice the concepts covered in class. Successful completion of the course requires the submission of graded homework and the final Quarter End Exam (QEE).
