In this course, students will be able to relate to words and expressions from the Bhagavad Gītā in the following areas:
In this course, students will understand how to decline words that end in complex into different cases. This course will also enable students compose more complex and intricate sentences in Saṃskṛtam using complex words and conditional predicates. The use of adjectives in appropriate places in accordance with stated rules will be covered in this course. In the Bhagavad Gītā, students will learn the technique of converting poetry to prose and uncover the meaning of the verses in chapters 2 and 3 of the Bhagavad Gītā. Students will continue to practice and employ this Padavibhāga, Anvaya and Tātparyam in subsequent courses in this program.
Students will have a dedicated 1.5 hours of contact time with the faculty each week. The class is carefully structured to facilitate effective learning in an online face-to-face format. The curriculum is designed to build upon the knowledge gained in previous classes. Regular homework assignments will provide valuable opportunities to practice the concepts covered in class. Successful completion of the course requires the submission of graded homework and the final Quarter End Exam (QEE).
